Unlucked – A Poem

All you need is a little bit of luck,
A little luck they say.
You gotta be in it to win it.
So here I am,
Standing right at the front of the line.
Ready to give up everything that I am.
Waiting for you to stake your claim.
Roll the dice,
Call my name.
But nothing.
I just stand there waiting.
Can it be just luck?
Am I just not lucky?
Or perhaps I was never in the drawing at all.
