Inspo Fridays! – A Song to Remind you to Love Life

image

I remember sitting in the back of my mom’s new car when I was around 7 years old. It was her first “nice” car. A black Volkswagen Jetta. Our special luxury. It had been a couple years since my dad passed away and things were starting to look up. My mom was smiling.

Even though we didn’t have much money, my mom was trying to build a career and I was a happy little girl. I remember that day in the car, the song “These are Days” by Natalie Merchant/ 10000 Maniacs played and the words just felt so true. No matter what we didn’t have or what we lost, we were blessed and lucky to have each other and this thing we call “life”. I hope these words inspire your day as they do mine everytime I hear them.

THESE ARE DAYS

Natalie Merchant/ Christian Burial Music © 1992

These are days you’ll remember

Never before and never since, I promise
will the whole world be warm as this
and as you feel it, you’ll know it’s true
that you are blessed and lucky
it’s true, that you are touched by something
that will grow and bloom in you

These are days you’ll remember

When May is rushing over you with desire
to be part of the miracles you see in every hour
you’ll know it’s true, that you are blessed and lucky
it’s true, that you are touched by something
that will grow and bloom in you

These are the days
that you might fill with laughter
until you break

These days you might feel a shaft of light
make its way across your face
and when you do
you’ll know how it was meant to be
see the signs and know their meaning

You’ll know how it was meant to be
hear the signs and
know they’re speaking to you
to you
