Passion Doesn’t Pay

I once was told,
Passion doesn’t pay.
Throughout my journey,
Winding roads in dismay.
Searching for something,
Not knowing where to look.
A passion inside,
To open like a book.
Pages and pages of a life I desire.
Hoping for dreams to ignite like a fire.
All of the quotes and inspiration I’ve acquired,
Meet with hopeless failures to loosen the desire.
A quest in life,
That’s short as it is uncertain,
To find a passion that I am deserving.
It may be 20 years that I still need to seek,
But when it finally comes,
I will reach my peak.
Small climb up side a mountain,
Above the angry men who stay
And who tell me such things,
Like “passion doesn’t pay”.
