I am the Dragonfly

I am the dragonfly,
The butterfly was already taken.
But a subtle comparison can be largely mistaken.
I searched for a meaning,
To see if I could feel anything there.
I related to the “change”,
Setting flight into the air,
And as the far away fields came closer,
And the land beneath grew further.
Perceptions start to change,
I desire to lengthen my range.
And in that short moment,
Just like the dragonfly…
My perspectives rearrange.
Who am I?
Where am I going?
Where am I supposed to be?
In a soaring sense of belonging,
The dragonfly is me.
